“Das BürgerForum 2011 in 5 Minuten” (The Citizens' Forum 2011 in 5 Minutes)
is a film for the Bertelsman Foundation in cooperation with the Office of the Federal President. The concept and the storyboard were developed by the crossmedia agency LUCID. It was my task to design a content-related pictogram style, to refine the individual pictograms and graphics and do the final artwork.
The pictograms had to be as simple and neutral as possible, and at the same time offer the possibility to devise different characters by changing clothing, profession or colour of skin. The film is set in three colours and is based on the colour palette of the BürgerForum's web site. Icons, proportions and anchor points are arranged following a fixed grid.
For the film, the pictograms for the individual committees and their areas of interest were re-designed in the style of the human icons and are unlike the ones used in the BürgerForum's brochure.
